For example, an illustration created for someone who simply wants to hang it in their home will probably be cheaper than if it\u2019s to be printed and sold in multiple copies by a large company. That\u2019s why the contact form is so important: it enables me to offer you a fair price that\u2019s tailored to your needs. If your budget doesn\u2019t allow me to cover the entire service you require, I\u2019ll usually find a way to offer you something that\u2019s a little different, but still appropriate and satisfying for both you and me.[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”I\u2019m not sure how to answer some of the questions on the commission form.” css=””]Don\u2019t worry, most of the answers are not mandatory, but they are there to help me better understand your desires! When you place a professional order, you have the choice of buying partial or full rights to my work.<\/p>\n

Think of these partial rights as a kind of rental contract: they allow you to use the illustration for a limited period, use and geographical area, which we define together when you place your order. With this type of contract, I retain ownership of the copyright to the image I\u2019ve created, allowing me to use it for other projects at a later date, or to sell reproduction rights to others.<\/p>\n

Buying the full rights gives you full ownership of the copyrights on the illustration concerned, and gives you permission to use it for as long and in any way you choose. For me, this means that I will no longer have the right to use it. This is why acquiring the full rights to an image is always much more expensive.<\/p>\n

Depending on the nature of your project, one or the other type of contract will be more appropriate, but in most cases, purchasing reproduction rights is sufficient.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, whatever type of contract we sign, I remain the only person who must be credited for the work.[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”What happens if I decide to stop the project? Can I get my money back from the first installment?” css=””]If you decide to stop the project, I\u2019ll stop working on it as soon as I receive your message informing me of your decision, and you won\u2019t have to pay me the whole of the second half of the installment. On the other hand, the first installment is non-recoverable, as it is used to remunerate the time I have already invested in the project. You\u2019ll also have to pay an additional sum if the money from the first installment isn\u2019t enough to cover all the time spent on the project.

\nLorsque vous passez une commande professionnelle, vous avez le choix entre acheter des droits partiels ou la totalit\u00e9 des droits sur mon travail.
\nImaginez ces droits partiels comme une sorte de contrat de location : ils permettent d\u2019utiliser l\u2019illustration pour une p\u00e9riode, un usage et une zone g\u00e9ographique limit\u00e9s, que nous d\u00e9finissons ensemble lorsque vous passez commande. Avec ce type de contrat, je reste propri\u00e9taire des droits d\u2019auteur de l\u2019image que j\u2019ai cr\u00e9\u00e9e, ce qui me permet de l\u2019utiliser ult\u00e9rieurement pour d\u2019autres projets ou d\u2019en vendre les droits de reproduction \u00e0 d\u2019autres personnes.
\nL\u2019achat de la totalit\u00e9 des droits vous permet de devenir enti\u00e8rement propri\u00e9taire des copyrights sur l\u2019illustration concern\u00e9e et vous donne l\u2019autorisation de l\u2019utiliser aussi longtemps et de toutes les mani\u00e8res de votre choix. Cela signifie pour moi que je n\u2019aurai plus le droit de l\u2019utiliser. C\u2019est pour cette raison que l\u2019acquisition de la totalit\u00e9 des droits d\u2019une image est toujours beaucoup plus co\u00fbteuse.
\nEn fonction de la nature de votre projet, l\u2019un ou l\u2019autre type de contrat sera plus pertinent, mais dans la plupart des cas, l\u2019achat des droits de reproduction est suffisant.
